2025年12月4日から7日までの4日間、京都・日蓮宗本山 妙覚寺にて、巡回展の集大成となる「心の解放」個展を開催いたしました。
また、秋の特別拝観期間（11月15日〜12月14日）中も数点の作品を展示させていただき、一ヶ月にわたり妙覚寺という尊い場所で作品を披露する機会をいただきました。
妙覚寺の静謐な空気のなか、歴史を重ねた重厚な空間と、現代の曼荼羅が響き合う唯一無二の展示。今回の最終個展では、煩悩の数と同じ「108点」の作品を一堂に並べ、多くの方々にご覧いただくことができました。
師走の寒さのなか、朝早くから閉門間際まで、途切れることなく足を運んでくださった皆様。そのお姿に、深い感動と感謝の念が込み上げました。
京都という、精神性と美意識が深く根付いた土地で、皆様と曼荼羅を通じて「心」を分かち合えた時間は、私にとって何物にも代えがたい貴重な体験となりました。
多大なるご協力をいただいた妙覚寺の皆様、そして今年一年、この「心の解放・展」を共にしてくださったすべての皆様。京都の地で結ばれた尊いご縁に、心より深く感謝申し上げます。
Akiko Sasagawa Solo Exhibition "Liberation of the Soul" in Kyoto (Myokakuji Temple)
Main Text: From December 4th to 7th, 2025, I held the grand finale of my exhibition tour, "Liberation of the Soul," at the historic Myokakuji Temple in Kyoto. Additionally, several pieces were displayed during the temple’s special autumn opening from November 15th to December 14th, allowing my work to resonate with this sacred space for an entire month.
Within the tranquil atmosphere of Myokakuji, the ancient architecture and my modern mandalas harmonized to create a truly unique experience. For this final exhibition, I displayed 108 works—a number representing the 108 earthly desires—which were viewed by many visitors.
Despite the December chill, I was deeply moved by the constant stream of people who visited from early morning until sunset.
Sharing this experience through my mandalas in Kyoto—a city where spirituality and aesthetics are deeply ingrained—has been a profoundly valuable experience for me.
My heartfelt gratitude goes to everyone at Myokakuji Temple for their immense support, and to everyone who shared the journey of the "Liberation of the Soul" exhibition with me this year. I am truly thankful for the precious connections made in Kyoto.
